We invite you to visit the Kotlaska Community Garden, which serves as a green oasis in the wider centre of Prague. The 3,000 m2 space offers an experience of "urban wilderness", allowing visitors to relax in the old orchard or plant in the community garden.
The concept of the garden follows the principles of natural gardening, uses resources sparingly and respects the living needs of all visitors to the garden and its inhabitants from the fauna. Come over on Saturday, June 25 at 3 PM to see what lives and grows in the garden, to learn how this kind of green space benefits the life of people in the city, promotes biodiversity and ecological sustainability. Michal Plundra, biologist and gardener, will guide you through the garden.
KCaZ Kotlaska is a project of the non-profit organization RUBIKON Centra, z.ú., whose main activity is to support people with criminal backgrounds in their integration into society. The place serves the clients of the organisation as a space for establishing new relationships, meaningful leisure time and job training, but also hundreds of Prague residents, mainly from the Palmovka neighbourhood. A community has formed here that actively participates in the operation of Kotlaska. It contributes to and strengthens neighbourhood relationships, care for greenery and cultivation in the city and, last but not least, social cohesion and inclusion of people from the margins of society.
The programme in Kotlaska is organised with the support of the Prague Innovation Institute (Pii). This public benefit organisation focuses on supporting the development of education, the city, business and the environment. It also wants to become a link between the business world and the public and academic spheres.
