CAMP meets Europe

Where do Prague, Paris and Stockholm meet? With us at CAMP! We explore the subjects in which these cities can inspire each other. Paris will show how urban cycling works, Prague will present its approach to urban greenery and public spaces, and Stockholm will uncover its tradition of community living, which may have a bright future in other cities. The evenings always end with a discussion and a screening of a thematic French, Czech and Swedish film. Come on the weekend 24.-26.6. to CAMP and meet Europe with us.

Basic information

Three days dedicated to three European capitals on the occasion of the handover of the Presidency of the Council of the EU, which will be held by the Czech Republic after France from July 2022 and then handed over to Sweden in January 2023.

Friday, June 24, will be dedicated to Paris and the topic of cycling. Cycling in France is no longer just about the Tour de France. Paris' Mission Vélo 2020-2026 strategy aims to open up the entire inner city to comfortable cycling. Where does Prague stand and can it achieve a 20% share of cyclists in Prague's traffic? During the evening, the new shared archicollo, created in collaboration with Rekola, will be launched and we will end the Friday with a screening of the thematic film The Holy Race in the summer cinema.

On Saturday, June 25, Prague and changes in public space will take the center stage. Prague, as one of the greenest cities on the old continent, has recently experienced many small and beautiful interventions in the public space. The discussion titled Small Steps to a Better City will look at what changes in public space entail. How hard is it to cultivate the centre of Prague and reduce visual smog? The discussion will be followed by a screening of King Skate, a film about the pioneers of skateboarding in the totalitarian era of 1970s and 1980s Czechoslovakia.

The European trilogy will conclude on Sunday, 26 June in Stockholm. The Swedish capital will offer us an insight into its tradition of community housing and successful social policy. Where can Prague draw inspiration? What changes will Prague's housing strategy bring? The discussion will be followed by a screening of a Swedish film about a self-proclaimed neighbourhood policeman - A Man Called Ove.
